This plugin has been around a while. I started using it shortly after I started my blog, and it’s been a part of every version of my personal blog since. It gives you the most commonly used admin functions (Dashboard, Write Post/Page, Add Link, Manage, Plugins, Presentation, Options, and Logout) in a handy shortcut bar at the top of your blog.

Installation:
Upload ‘wpab.php’ to the ‘/wp-content/plugins/’ directory.
Upgrades:
Disable plugin in Admin panel. Upload new tag-cloud.php, overwriting the original, and enable in admin panel.
Use:
Activate ‘WP Admin Bar’ through the ‘Plugins’ menu in WordPress.
In you theme’s header.php file, find the <body> tag. Immediately after this tag, insert the following:

I suggest wrapping the function call in function_exists, so that if the plugin isn’t activated, your site won’t die a horrible, burning death…ok, it won’t really, it’ll just display a call to undefined function error, which isn’t exactly a good thing.
You can put the function call wherever you like in your theme, but to me, it makes the most sense to put it at the top.
Notes about styling the admin bar: If you would like to adjust any of the styling, the styles for the admin bar start on line 62 in the wpab.php file. You can also make the bar hold a fixed position, which will make it visible in your browser even while scrolling. Note, however, that this will most likely require editing of your theme to avoid having parts of your header over-written.

This didn’t work for me in the MU 1.5rc1
But the old 1.4.1 mu-admin-bar By Jon Breitenbucher does, so using that again.
I’m not sure what’s not working for you, but I upgraded my development server to WPMU 1.5 rc1 this afternoon, and it works like a charm.
I dropped it in the plugin folder, it showed in the plugins, i activated it, I added that code right after body in my header.php file as instructed, no bar was there.
Using mushblue 10, but tried a few others also with same results.
I’m glad it works for you, maybe it’s a plugin i have installed? Anything is possible I suppose.
